Abstract

1,246,338. Washing agent containing stabilized inorganic per-compound. HENKEL & CIE. G.m.b.H. 20 Dec., 1968 [30 Dec., 1967], No. 60643/68. Heading C5D. A washing agent comprises an inorganic per-compound and as activator, an acylated glycoluril of the general Formula (I) in which at least two of the residues R 1 to R 4 repre sent acyl residues (C 2-8 ), while the otherresidues represent hydrogen and/or alkyl and/or aryl residues (C 1-8 ) and/or acyl residues (C 2-8 ). Preferably tetra-acylated glycolurils with the same C 2-4 acyi residues are used. Suitable acyl residues are acetyl, propionyl, butyryl, nitriloacetyl, monochloroacetyl, dichloroacetyl or trichloroacetyl residues, and benzoyl or toluyl residues optionally substituted by nitro groups or halogen atoms, and also benzoyl residues substituted by methoxy or nitrilo groups. The inorganic per-compound may be sodium perborate tetrahydrate (NaBO 2 .H 2 O 2 .3H 2 O), dehydrated perborates, i.e. up to the approximate composition NaBO 2 .H 2 O 2 , borates NaBO 2 .H 2 O 2 containing active oxygen in which the proportion Na 2 O : B 2 O 3 is less than 0À5 : 1 and the proportion of H 2 O 2 : Na is in the range 0À4 1- 0À15 : 1, and peroxyhydrates of ortho-, pyro- or poly-phosphates and also carbonates. Waterinsoluble stabilizers for the per-compounds may also be present, e.g. magnesium silicate, silicates of other alkaline earth metals, cadmium or tin, and water-containing oxides of tin. Organic sequestering agents, e.g. nitriloacetic acid, polyalkylene-polyamine-N-carboxylic acids, di- and poly-phosphonates and carboxy-methylenephosphonic acid, may be used as water-soluble stabilizers. The usual anionic, amphoteric or non-ionic surface-active compounds may also be used, which may be combined with known foam inhibitors which are not surface-active compounds, e.g. N-alkylated aminotriazines possibly containing chlorine, paraffins, halogenated paraffins and aliphatic C 8 _ 20 ketones. Weakly acid, neutral or alkaline reacting salts may also be present, e.g. bicarbonates, carbonates of the alkali metals, mono-, di- or trialkali metal orthophosphates, di- or tetraalkali metal pyrophosphates, metaphosphates, alkali metal sulphates and also the alkali metal salts of organic, non-surface-active, sulphonic acids, carboxylic acids and sulphocarboxylic acids (C 1 _ 8 ). The composition may also contain water-soluble colloids as dirt carriers, e.g. salts of polymeric carboxylic acids, glue, gelatine, salts of ether-carboxylic acids or ether-sulphonic acids of starch or cellulose, salts of acid sulphuric acid esters of cellulose or starch, degraded starch, aldehyde starch and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The particles of the activators incorporated in the washing agent may also be coated with water-soluble or water-insoluble high molecular weight organic substances preferably capable of swelling in water, e.g. gelatine, methyl, ethyloxy, ethyl and carboxymethyl-cellulose, and polyglycol ethers. The usual brighteners, enzymes, perfumes and dyestuffs may be added. [GB1246338A]
