Abstract

A board (10) for media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver game for indoor use employing non-metal, safety horseshoes and ninja stars, has a housing (11) mountable on a vertical surface, such as a wall, in use. The housing (11) is made from translucent material and has three cavities that have a plurality of spaced apart vertical sections (12) within two cavities. The upper cavity houses the light source. In use, a horseshoe or ninja star is thrown at the board by the player may get caught between the vertcal sections resulting in a score for that player. As the board (10) is mountable on a wall indoors, a game may be played by players and watched by observers without danger of injury to persons or property. <Figure 1>

Description

Media Advertising and Horseshoe and Ninja Star Receiver Board Game IE1 2 Ο Ο 11 The present invention relates to a media advertising board and horseshoe tossing game for indoor use.
Horseshoes is an outdoor game played between two people (or two teams of two 5 people) using four horseshoes and two throwing targets (stakes) set in a sandbox area. The game is played by the players alternating turns tossing horseshoes at stakes in the ground, which are typically placed 12.19m apart. Each modem horseshoe typically weighs 1 kilo and is more stylized U-shaped metal bar, about twice the size of an actual horseshoe.
The outdoor game has been adapted for indoor use in a number of different ways. In its most basic adaption, a playing area, which replicates an outdoor playing area, is set up in an indoor area suitable for the purpose.
However a disadvantage of this arrangement is that other activities cannot be accommodated in the same area, as there would be a danger of damage to persons or property being hit by poorly aimed, metal horseshoes.
In another example of an indoor horseshoe tossing game the stake is housed in a padded lag, which opens out to create a padded area on a floor around a stake. In this game safety rubber horseshoes are employed to minimise the risk of damage from poorly aimed horseshoes.
However this game is played by tossing rubber horseshoes at a stake on the floor, adequate space must be allocated for the game, free from non-players, which is only possible in certain situations.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a board for a Media Advertising and Horseshoe and Ninja Star Receiver Board Game indoor use which overcomes the disadvantages of the aforementioned whilst incorporating media advertising The invention provides a Media Advertising and Horseshoe and Ninja Star Receiver Board Game for indoor use employing non-metal, safety horseshoes and safety ninja stars, the board comprising of a housing having a front section, a back section, the front and back section separated by walls to form a cavity within the housing subdivided into three cavities by three horizontal levels, and a plurality of spaced apart vertical sections within the lower two cavities, such that, in use, a horseshoe or ninja star can be thrown at the board by the player may get caught vertically between the sections resulting in a score for that player.
By a non-metal safety horseshoe and Ninja Star in this context is meant a horseshoe or ninja star or similarly shaped device, made of rubber, plastics, or fibre glass material.
An advantage of the board according to the invention is that it can be mounted on a wall and thus will not cause an obstruction on the ground. The board can also be followed by spectators in the vicinity without them having to have a view of the floor.
The Media Advertising and Horseshoe and Ninja Star Receiver Board can be used in social clubs, public houses or the like where tournaments can be organised, or in the home for domestic use.
Preferably the plurality spaced apart vertical sections are arranged in vertical rows, with the distance between the adjacent vertical rows being greater than the diameter ofthe safety horseshoe and ninja stars.
The game is designed for two or more players. Each player receives three safety horseshoes or ninja stars. The object ofthe game is to land a horseshoe or ninja star between the verticai sections. Typically the horseshoe or ninja star is thrown so that the trajectory is such that it wedges between the vertical sections. Each vertical section is worth different points. Whoever hits a score of 351 &st wins.
In one embodiment of the invention the housing can be mounted on a vertical surface at different levels.
An advantage of this feature is that the height of the board above ground level can be set for particular groups of players e.g. lower for children and higher for adults.
In a further embodiment of the invention the housing in its entirety is made of translucent material allowing for an image to be backlit by the the light source. 1E1 2 0 0 IV Thus, the image to be displayed can be chosen to suit particular advertising requirements.
The invention will be further illustrated by the following description of the embodiment thereof; given by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view, from the front and one side, of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game for indoor use according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view, from the front and one side, of the plurality of spaced apart vertical sections removed from the board in Fig, 1; Fig. 3 is a perspective view, from the behind and one side of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game for indoor in Fig.l; Fig.4 is a perspective view, from the behind and one side with the back vertical sections removed from the housing in Fig.3; Fig.5 is a perspective view, from the front and one side of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game with all housing elements and a plurality of spaced apart vertical sections in exploded view format; Fig. 6 is an elevation view, from the front of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig.l; Fig. 7 is an elevation view from the left side of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig. 1; Fig. 8 is an elevation view from the back side of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig. 1; Fig.9 is an elevation view from the right side of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig. 1; Fig. 10 is a view from the top of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig.l; IE 1 2 Ο Ο 11 Fig.11 is a view from the bottom of the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game in Fig. 1.
Referring to Fig.1, there is illustrated, generally at 10, a media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game for indoor use employing non-metal, safety horseshoes and ninja stars, the board 10 having a housing 11 mountable on a vertical surface, such as a wall, in use.
A plurality of spaced apart vertical sections 12 is located within the cavities of the housing between horizontal base units 13 the horizontal middle unit 14 and the horizontal top unit 15. Each vertical section 12 and horizontal units 13,14,15 is made from translucent material. The top front section 16 is made of two vertical elements of translucent material.
Referring to Fig. 2, the plurality of spaced apart vertical sections 12 are shown removed from the board 10.
Referring to Fig.3, the board 10 is depicted from behind showing the rear vertical 15 sections 17 that comprises of two vertical sections made from translucent material.
The mounting dowels 18 allow for fixing the media advertising and horseshoe and ninja star receiver board game 10 to a vertical surface such as a wall. The mounting dowels 18 are made from plastic.
Referring to Fig. 4, the board 10 is depicted from behind showing the rear vertical 20 sections 17 removed.
Referring to Fig. 5, the board is depicted from the front showing the top section 18 of the housing, the left vertical section 20 of the housing and the right vertical section 21 of the housing.
