Abstract

Resin bonded high strength filter units for economic filtration (of suspensions or suspension-like mixts.) are prepd. from minerals, crushed and milled prods. classified within strict size limits and mixed with synthetic resins. Core is taken that the interstices should not be completely filled with resin. Thus an integral system is formed contg. superimposed layers, each of homogeneous dispersion but of varying particle size grading. - This construction allows free passage of liquids to be filtered through apertures of gradually increasing size, in the direction of flow, thus the filler is practically clogging free.(Dwg.1)
