Abstract

Municipal or septic tank sewage water is clarified and subjected to combined treatment, such that the aerobic and anaerobic treatment spaces are separated by suitable elements. - Sewage removed from septic tanks by a tanker lorry is discharged by the tanker's own equipment and simultaneously strained. The water phase is distributed into the lower (anaerobic) section of the treatment plant. The rising effluent water, rich in colloids, is clarified by contact with the suspended sludge. The water continues to rise into the aerobic space where it is further purified and/or strained. The gases generated are collected and piped away, and in some cases the water is further treated. - The proposed equipment is divided into anaerobic and aerobic treatment spaces by suitable guide elements. Effluent water is routed from a feed tank arranged with a solids trap. Water is supplied to the anaerobic treatment space by a feed pipe. Reversed `L' shaped elements divide the anaerobic reactor space and the aerobic settling space. The tops of the separator elements are connected to a gas collector header and gas discharge pipe. The lower pts of the separator elements are provided with covered slots. (Dwg.0/1)
