Abstract

An energy efficient method is proposed for the preparation of animal feed, rich in amino-acids, and enriched with lactic acid, using animal and vegetable materials. The concentrate containing animal and vegetable proteins is prepared, such that the anti-nutritional effect of raw or ground soy bean is neutralised by heat treatment and/or by mixing with lactic acid in a special equipment. The product may be used as poultry or pig feed. The heat treatment is carried out by waste heat obtained from the sterilising process of by products, wastes, carcasses of animal origin.
