Abstract
Oxetanocin-related cpd. of formula (I) and their salts are new. R1 = CH2OH or CH2OCO (alkyl); Y = C=CH2, C=O or -C(R2)(R3)-; provided that R2 = H, OH or CH2OH and R3 = H, OH, halo, CH2OH, lower alkyl opt. substd. by halo, CH2-N3, N3, COOH, NH2, CH2OSO3H or CH2OCO (lower alkyl; B = a residue of purine base; provided that R1 and R3 are not both CH2OH. B = a residue of adenine base, guanine base, hypoxanthine base or 2-aminoadenine base. Also claimed is a pharmaceutical compsn. comprising an oxetanocin-related cpd. of formula (I) where R1 = R1a=CH2OH, CH2OCO (alkyl) or CH3; Y = as above; provided that R2 = H, OH, or CH2OH and R3 = R3a H, OH, halo, CH2OH, lower alkyl opt. substd. by halo, CH2N3, CH2f, N3, COOH, NH2, CH2OSO3H or CH2OCO (lower alkyl).
