Abstract

A water soluble polymer which improves the lustre of zinc coatings is prepd. from a 30-70% soln. of di:allyl-ammonium-chloride or bromide in the presence of sulphur and/or selenium-dioxide activator, at 85-115 deg. C. 1-10 mls/l of this polymer are added to an electrolyte contg. 100 g/l sodium hydroxide and 10 g/l zinc-oxide.
