Abstract

Industrial wastes contg. environmentally harmful isocyanates arising from polyuretane prodn. are rendered harmless by contacting them with polyols in the presence of starch and water. Prior to treatment the wastes are pref. bulked. The prod. of the treatment is homogeneous solid, practically insoluble in water, and harmless to living organisms.
