Abstract
The male attracting sex hormone of formula (I) is prepared by reaction between not isolated dianions of properpylalcohol (II) formed with alkyl-lithium and a cpd. of formula (III). (R is tetrahydropyranyl group or a 1-ethoxy-ethyl group; X is halogen or mesyl-oxy or tosyl-oxy), to obtain (IV) which is reduced to (V) using lithium-aluminium-hydride. (V) is acylated to (VI); the latter being treated with lithium-dimethyl-cuprate to yield (VII) from which (I) is obtained by known means.
