Liq. manure from large animal-keeping establishments is, transformed into soil-humid, odourless, crumbling, transportable and spreadable fertiliser by intensively mixing the liq. manure with 5-50 wt% based on the liq. manure of granulated oil-slate with a particle size below 50 mm, opt. together with 0.3 wt% commercially available prepns. stimulating bacterial growth, adding not more than 2 wt% potassium and/or phosphorus contg. artificial fertiliser, fermenting the resulting mixt. for 4-6 weeks in open storage basins, mixing the resulting material with the 0.5-1.5 fold vol. of perlite and resting the prod. so obtd. for at least 4 weeks in a storage depot. - Alternatively all the ingredients are mixed together in one step and the resulting prod. left in stacks for 8-10 weeks.
