(1) DNA encoding the last 338, 339 or 340 amino acids of hygromycin B phosphotransferase either alone or in translational reading phase with a transcriptional and translational activator sequence-contg. gene or protein of a gene is new. (2) Recombinant DNA cloning vector comprising the DNA defined above is new. (3) Plasmids pII 141, 143 and 207 are new. (4) Transformant comprising the vector defined above is new.
