There are several pin chambers in the cylinder core (12) for receiving short-circuit pins, and these pin chambers can be covered with the pin chambers (18) in the housing (14). The valve chambers in the cylinder core (12) extend between the keyway and the outer surface of the cylinder core (12), so a connection can be established between the valve chambers of the housing (14) and the cylinder core (12). The interface between the inner surface of the housing (14) and the outer surface of the cylinder core (12) determines the lock shear line. In the pin chambers (18), there are alternating locking pins, between which there is at least one driven or lower pin and one upper or driving pin (22), and the pins are axially overlapping and in abutting contact. At least one pin passes through the marking line, so it is partially in the pin chamber (18) in the cover and in the pin chamber of the cylinder core (12) if there is no key with the correct teeth in the keyway. Each locking pin also has a front spring (26) which biases the pins in the cover in the direction of the cylinder core (12). At least one first locking aid provides an anti-rotational mechanical connection between the housing (14) and the cylinder core (12) if there is no key in the keyway having a first profile feature that cooperates with the first locking aid. The first locking aid is partially carried by the cylinder core (12) and can be moved relative to it, and the first locking aid is connected to the first side of the keyway. A single-grip structure in the keyway mechanically grips keys that do not have a second profile feature. This structure is located between the shear line and the second side of the keyway. The second side of the keyway faces the first side of the keyway, and the gripping structure has an actuating portion that is at least partially overlapped with the locking aid and cooperates with the second profile feature of the key.
