Abstract
An aqueous odour absorbing composition (I), which is safe for use on human skin, comprises: (a) 0.1-5 wt.% solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin; (b) an aqueous carrier; (c) 0.1-36 wt.% oil phase consisting of emollient, moisturiser and/or skin protectant; and (d) an emulsifier. Also claimed are: (1) use of (I) in manufacture of a composition for controlling environmental malodours and reducing body and/or vaginal odour; (2) production of an aqueous odour absorbing composition by mixing an emulsifier, an oil phase and an aqueous phase until homogeneous, and adding and dissolving cyclodextrin in the mixture.
