Abstract

The essence of the procedure is that - a specific section of the mineral wool blanket is illuminated at an oblique angle of incidence, - at least one image of the selected section is recorded on a video camera placed on an axis perpendicular to the plane of the section, - each point of the image is assigned a digital signal that corresponds to light density, and this counting takes place directly in the video camera or in a counting section placed after it, - with the help of an image processing system (7), the extent of the vertical threads and the fineness of the crepe are determined based on the digital signals of the luminance. The essence of the device is that it contains a lighting device that illuminates a specific section of a mineral wool quilt at an oblique angle of incidence, a CCD camera (5) placed on an axis perpendicular to the plane of the mentioned section, and a single image processing system (7).
