Claims (14)

1. A floor panel assembly consisting of sheet-shaped floor panels (1-4), which floor panels have a plurality of edges (5-8), wherein the edge (7) of the first panel (1) and the second edge (8) second plates (2) equipped with connecting elements (13, 14) which enable the connection of the first and second edges of the two plates (1, 2) by bringing them into engagement with each other, so that the upper sides (9) of both plates are brought mostly into mutual alignment and meet in the vertical plane VP, whereby the first edge (7) is equipped with a male connecting element (17), and the second edge (8) with a female connecting element (18) adapted to receive a male connecting element (17) in it so that it locks plates on the adjacent edges at least in the direction perpendicular to the upper side and in the direction parallel to the upper side (9) but perpendicular to the adjacent first and second edges in their joined position, characterized by the fact that the male and female connecting elements (17, 18) are thus adapted to one second that the surface (24) of the male connecting element (17) is pressed against the surface (25) of the female connecting element (18) in the contact area (26), said contact area having a horizontal component and being the first of its kind, namely the first between mainly horizontal surfaces , or surfaces that have a horizontal component, which the water encounters when it enters between the connecting elements from the vertical plane VP. 2. Assembly of the floor plate as in any of the previous claims 1 - 4, characterized in that the connecting elements (13, 14) allow the joining of the edges (7, 8) of the two plates by bringing them into engagement with each other, preferably in a relatively inclined position of the plates (1, 2) and then by rotating said plate relative to each other, the upper sides (9) of both plates (1, 2) are mostly aligned with each other and meet in the vertical plane VP. 6. Floor panel assembly according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains a third edge (5) and a fourth edge (6), wherein the third edge (5) of the first panel (1) and the fourth edge (6) of the third panel ( 3) equipped with connecting elements (11, 12) that enable the third and fourth edges (5, 6) of the first and third plates (1, 3) to be joined by bringing them into contact with each other, so that the upper sides (9) of both plates ( 1, 3) generally align with each other and meet in the vertical plane VP, whereby the third edge (5) is provided with a male connecting element (11) and the fourth edge (6) with a female connecting element (12) adapted for receiving into it the male connecting element (11) of the third edge (5) so that it locks the plates on the adjacent edges (5, 6) at least in the direction perpendicular to the upper side (9) and in the direction parallel to the upper side (9) but perpendicular to the adjacent third and the fourth edge (5, 6) in their joined position, wherein the male and female connecting elements (11, 12) of the third and fourth edges (5, 6) are adapted to each other in such a way that the surface (50) of the male connecting element is in the contact area (11) of the third edge (5) pressed against the surface (49) of the female connecting element (12) of the fourth edge (6), said contact area has a horizontal component and is the first of its kind that water encounters when entering between the connecting elements (11, 12) of the third and fourth edges (5, 6) from the vertical plane VP. 7. Floor panel assembly according to any one of claims 11 - 12, characterized in that the connecting element of the third edge (5) is provided with a tab and the connecting element of the fourth edge (6) is provided with a grooved slot adapted to receive the tab so that it locks the panels on adjacent edges at least in a direction perpendicular to the upper side (9) and in a direction parallel to the upper side but perpendicular to the adjacent third and fourth edges in their joined position. 14. Floor panel assembly according to requirements 1 or 2, characterized in that the connecting elements are vertical connecting elements which are connected to each other mainly by vertically moving the corresponding edges of the plate towards each other.
