Abstract

The component (1), particularly a pipe or a housing part, has a pipe section (4) and a flange (2) provided with a flange support (3). A groove is arranged between the flange support and the pipe section. The groove runs around a longitudinal axis (L) of the flange. The groove is filled by a filling bore (8) with a sealing unit for producing a cohesive sealed pressure connection. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a compressed gas-proof connection between a component, particularly a pipe or a housing part, and a flange.
