Abstract

A method of displaying an image (AB) of the traffic situation of railway lines on a display screen (12) of a pixel- based display device (5) controlled with a control device (25) of a railway guidance system. The traffic situation is represented in such as way that an observer of the display screen (12) ascertains the traffic situation and can take control measures for influencing the situation. A display device (5) with an internal, matrix-type image store (15) is used, and the image data required for representing the image are deposited in it, such that the device (5) is operated in such a way that it displays a grid line pattern on at least a part-surface of the display screen (12). The grid line width corresponds to the width of a display screen pixel and its grid line spacing corresponds to an aliquant of the discrete-pixel spacing.
