Abstract

A device for producing an ophthalmic lens with, in particular, aspherical surfaces by machining in a continuous operation, with a spindle 5, which is rotatably mounted in a headstock 15 and to which a lens blank 2 rotatable with the spindle 5 about the spindle axis 9 can be fastened, a turning tool 1 which is pivotable about a pivot axis 3 perpendicular to the spindle axis 9, and a setting device 14 by means of which the pivoting radius of the turning tool relative to the pivot axis 3 can be set as a function of the pivoting angle during the machining operation and which has a piezoelectric drive 4 and/or 21 which transmits a linear adjusting movement to the turning tool 1 in the radial direction relative to the pivot axis 3 during the machining operation for setting the pivoting radius of the turning tool 1. <IMAGE>
