Abstract

Magnetic field measurement device consisting externally of a box on which are placed: a measuring instrument with two scales from -500 to +500 Gauss, the scale dial, ON-OFF switch, the calibration setting screw and two sockets for the connection of the detector. The detector probe is a small plastic cylinder inside which is fitted the Hall semiconductor. The printed circuit board is fitted inside the box [Figures 1 2]. The magnetometer measures the magnetic field component that is parallel to the direction of the detector's arrow. This way we can measure the magnetic field components or its overall intensity. Another basic advantage of the device is the low cost of manufacture and the ease of its use. These advantages, combined with the existing teaching needs that this device can respond to in all levels of the educational procedure, render it as a measuring instrument necessary for the School Laboratory or anywhere else there is requirement for accurate measurement of magnetic field.
