Abstract

1. Method for producing containers coated with varnish or plastics or other anti-corrosive agents, in which the container wall is produced from a rectangular sheet-metal blank which is bent according to the subsequent form of the container wall and is butt-welded or lap-welded or soldered on the contiguous longitudinal edges, and to which the base and, if applicable, the lid are welted, and the sheet-metal blank is cut off a long sheet-metal web (12) which is usually would into a coil (20), characterised in that the sheet-metal web is coated with varnish or plastics or other anti-corrosive agents on the top side and/or on the underside omitting strips extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the web, and the sheet-metal web (12) is divided into sheet-metal blanks within the transverse strips, and each blank is shaped into the container wall, wherein the uncoated strips are parallel to the height of the container wall and are welded or soldered.
