Abstract

A method for thermal processing of solid household waste which cannot be converted into compost includes homogenization, dehydration and thermal decomposition, especially carried out by maintaining a drop in temperature over the length of exhaust flow at 5-10 K/m during the dehydration phase and at 10-20 K/m during the thermal decomposition phase. Gases from the thermal decomposition phase are subjected to a liquid cleaning of at least two phases, including isolation of bituminous compounds. During the second phase, cleaned gases are subdivided into two streams, where they are used as fuel. One of the streams is directed to the dehydration phase, the other to the thermal decomposition phase. A device for the realization of this method includes a configuration (4) for homogenization and feeding of garbage to a dehydration drum (1) and a drum (7) for thermal decomposition of garbage, connected to two fixed chambers at the ends (6, 11). By way of the first chamber (6), garbage is fed from the dehydration drum (1) to the second drum (7) and the gases produced by thermal decomposition are removed. By way of the second chamber (11), a kiln configuration (16) exists for the removal of solid by-products. The device includes an apparatus (21) for liquid cleaning of gases after thermal decomposition, which connects with the first chamber (6) and at least one more device (22) for the liquid cleaning of gases, which ensures isolation of asphaltic compounds, through a pipe (25) for cleaned gas, which branches to the feeding connections (27, 26), connecting to the kiln configuration (16) of the second kiln (11) and to the dehydration drum (1), by means of a supplementary kiln configuration (15).
