Abstract

Novelty: an electrically-operated olive fruit-harvesting device. Constitution: teeth dislodging olive fruit from olive trees without damaging these last; a spring enabling the displacement of the pole in different directions; an olive fruit-collecting umbrella conducting the harvested olive fruit to the collection funnel which is equipped with an incorporated grate meant to retain foliage; easily-mounted poles of different dimensions allowing the access of same to the highest point of the tree; a trolley made of lightweight materials and composed of large wheels facilitating the movement of the trolley on fields. Harvesting process: positioning the trolley under the olive tree, opening the olive-collecting umbrella, conducting the pole 5 and the teeth to the working point, starting the collection process by pressing the control 9 operated by the driving motor 4, collecting the harvested olive fruit into the funnel 11, filling crates with harvested olive fruit without stopping the harvesting process, continuing the harvesting process by displacing the trolley around the olive three and by fluctuating the length of the pole 5 or by choosing a longer pole reaching the length of 4 metres. Advantages: harvesting process realized by two persons, only; easy change of poles; for efficient harvesting in inaccessible points, the pole can be manually held and operated via an extension cord (total harvesting without olive fruit losses).
