Abstract

Ο εμπλουτισμός του όξινου διαλύματος αιμοκάθαρσης με 2g/lt L-ασκορβικό οξύ (βιταμίνη-C) προσφέρει αντιοξειδωτική προστασία σε ασθενείς με χρόνια νεφρική νόσο, που υποβάλλονται σε αιμοκάθαρση διατηρώντας τη συγκέντρωση της βιταμίνης C στο πλάσμα σταθερή σε όλη τη διάρκεια της συνεδρίας πλεονεκτώντας έναντι της από του στόματος χορήγησης, η οποία έχει ελλιπή απορρόφηση, καθώς και της ενδοφλέβιας χορήγησης, η οποία αποσυντίθεται ταχέως μετά την χορήγησή της. Επίσης αντικαθιστά την βιταμίνη-C, η οποία απομακρύνεται από τον ασθενή κατά τη διάρκεια της αιμοκάθαρσης και δεν μπορεί να αναπληρωθεί λόγω των διαιτητικών περιορισμών της ομάδας αυτής των ασθενών.
