Abstract
Η παρούσα ευρεσιτεχνία αποτελεί μια νέα μέθοδο παρασκευής τριγλώχινος βιοπροσθετικής βαλβίδας, που προέρχεται από την βαλβίδα της καρδιάς της φώκιας (αορτική ή πνευμονική) και με την οποία δύνανται να αντικατασταθούν οι δυσλειτουργούσες ανθρώπινες καρδιακές βαλβίδες, αντικαθιστώντας την νοσούντα βαλβίδα με μία βαλβίδα της παρούσης ευρεσιτεχνίας. Ηνέα αυτή βαλβίδα, αφού εξαχθεί από τη φώκια, τοποθετείται σε ένα στερεοποιητικό παράγοντα ώστε να αποστειρωθεί, σταθεροποιηθεί, να αυξήσει την ανθεκτικότητα των γλωχίνων και να ελαττώσει την αντιγονικότητα της βιολογικής βαλβίδας. Ακολούθως η νέα αυτή βιολογική βαλβίδα μπορεί να στηριχτεί σε ειδικόυποστηρικτή βαλβίδας, ή να χρησιμοποιηθεί ως αστήρικτη. Όντας από τη φύση της τριγλώχινας βαλβίδας με συμμετρικούς κόλπους, η βαλβίδα της καρδιάς τηςφώκιας (αορτική ή πνευμονική) παρουσιάζει σημαντικά πλεονεκτήματα έναντι των υπαρχουσών χοίρειων αορτικών βαλβίδων και βαλβίδων κατασκευασμένων από περικάρπιο βοοειδών. Το αυξημένο πάχος των γλωχίνωνέχει σαν αποτέλεσμα την ανθεκτικότητα στο χρόνο, ελαττώνοντας έτσι τους κινδύνους από μια επανεγχείρηση αντικατάστασης μιας βιολογικής βαλβίδας. Επιπροσθέτως, μιας τριγλώχιν βαλβίδα από φώκια δύναται να κατασκευαστεί από ιστούς όπως το περικάρπιο ή πλατεία περιτονία της φώκιας.
