Abstract

The herein-disclosed square meter is a mechanism calculating the length of the side of a square having equal or approximately equal area with a circle of given radius. The square meters, in all form, are a ruler of two different scales (the scale ofthe measuring system in force or the scale of another measuring system having for measuring unit the side of the square with which the measuring system in force is found in precise analogy. The advantage of a square meter of any form consists in thefact that it constitutes a handy mechanism for the calculation of the side of a square, the area of which is equal or approximately equal to a circle of known radius and vice versa.
