Abstract

The cylindrical column (1) of the invention, is constructed from appropriately configured -by a previous processing method- solid wood parts (2) with isosceles trapezoid cross-section or rectangular trapezoid cross-section, and planed on their sides(4), (5) and on their bases (6), (7), by means of an especially constructed exemplary planing guide-frame (18), which solid wood parts (2) are glued together, in order to form at first a polygonal column that is then transformed into the said cylindrical column (1), which has an opening (3) at its centre, the perimeter of which is formed by the surfaces of the top bases (7) of the solid wood parts (2). The column serves in producing usable and/or decorative items derived after processing the column, mainly on a carpentry lathe for cylindrical items, and secondly after cutting the column into flat surfaces, for items of any other shape with flat surfaces and depending on the processing depth or angle which has been applied on the column, the projected width of each part and each wood type used varies, providing by this way on the configured surface the various colors of the wood that has been used for the assemblage thereof.
