Abstract

The detection of tumour cells to the peripheral blood could be a significant invention for various reasons. It can facilitate the choice of the therapy whereas, in parallel, it can determinate, with the use of other special indices, the percentage and the possibility of the patient response to the therapy. The invention is a new sensitive method for the detection of metastases with the use of the reverse-trancriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the detection of the surface antigen 17-1A. The new method consists in the isolation of the total cellular mRNA, a part of which is used in the production of c-DNA. The metastatic tumour cells are detected with the use of specialized primers and original thermal protocols into a thermal cyclization device.
