Abstract

A trocar assembly that includes a resiliently flexible trocar tube having a relatively low bending stiffness and an inherent memory causing it to return to a generally straight orientation. The trocar tube is made from a flat-wire stainless steel reinforcing spring member that is encased in an insulating elastomeric material.
