Η εφεύρεση αντίδοτο υδροθείου αναφέρεται στο αντίδοτο Na2CO3 ή NaHCO3 που χημικώς είναι σχεδόν όμοιες χημικές ενώσεις και ονομάζονται αντίστοιχα ουδέτερο ανθρακικό νάτριο η ουδέτερη σόδα και όξινο ανθρακικό νάτριο ή όξινη σόδα η δεύτερη.
