Seeds are adhesively secured to one surface of a flexible sheet of hydrophobic material, which will not disintegrate as the seeds germinate. The sheet may be made from polyethylene and the adhesive may be water soluble or permanently tacky. The adhesive may be printed on to the sheet in discrete areas, or unseeded areas of adhesive may be dusted with talc or starch powder. The prepared sheet may be dusted with talc before being rolled up.
