Abstract

997,520. Dispensing eggboxes. HARTMANN FIBRE Ltd. Dec. 13, 1963 [May 20, 1963], No. 20019/63. Heading B8S. Egg boxes stacked within a magazine formed between plates 21 and 19 are released by the operation of jaws 62 and finger plates 22, and the lowermost is then withdrawn by grippers 52 and thereby discharged. The movements are effected by an oscillation of side levers 10 about shaft 2, the oscillation being effected by a single revolution clutch which controls the driving motor, the clutch being operated periodically by an incoming signal. The movement of each lever 10 is transmitted to jaw 62 by the engagement of roller 34 carried by lever 10 with cam 35 which rotates shaft 25 carrying jaw 62 against springs 37. Levers 10 operate corresponding fingerplates 22 by the engagement of roller 40 carried by lever 10 with roller 39 carried by shaft 26 which carries fingerplate 22. A corresponding lever 10 operates in a similar way a corresponding jaw 62 and fingerplate 22. Additionally, grippers 52 are carried by levers 10 and are operated by the engagement of rollers 45 with fixed cams 43 and 44. Operation.-The incoming signal operates a clutch to cause the lever 10 to make one revolution about shaft 2. Levers 10 by means of rollers 34 and rollers 45 operate the jaws 62 and fingerplates 22 and grippers 52. Thus the egg boxes rest on and between the pair of fingerplates 22. These are caused to pivot outwardly and at the same time jaws 62 are caused to pivot inwardly. In this way the lowermost egg box is released whilst the rest of the stack is gripped on both sides by jaws 62. As this lowermost box is released the grippers 52 are caused to move upwards and inwards to grip this box and to move it downwardly and then to discharge it by releasing it. Lever 10 performs its complete revolution and then comes to a standstill ready for the next cycle.
