997,478. Photographic material and process. AGFA A.G. Aug. 8, 1962 [Aug. 9, 1961], No. 30412/62. Heading G2C. A photographic material comprises, on a common support, (a) a panchromatically sensitized silver halide emulsion layer containing one or more colour couplers which yield an orange image on reaction with the oxidation products of a colour developer and (b) a yellow, orange-yellow or greenyellow filter layer decolorisable in processing baths. The material is used to produce separate negative masking images for colour correction of multicolour images by exposure to the multicolour image illuminated with white light via the masking layer. The mask may be orange or combined orange and silver. In an embodiment the material may include a blue-sensitive emulsion layer containing a coupler for violet, red or magenta images on the opposite side of the filter layer to the panchromatic layer. In use the unfiltered white light first passes through this additional layer to give an additional violet, magenta, red or neutral grey negative masking image. The materials used in the examples are identified by literature references and contain a mixture of magenta and yellow couplers. Specification 983,887 is referred to.
