[Also in Division E1] Bricks and tiles are made by pressing out bricks from a mix of sand and cement, subjecting the bricks to steam pressure treatment, and cutting off at least one free of each brick whereby the undersurface is exposed to serve as a facing while the, or each cut-off section provides a tile. As described, the bricks from a rotary press are autoclaved at temperatures up to 380‹ F. and are then sawn.
