Abstract
996, 676. Microscopes; optical systems. MEOPTA PRAHA NARODNI PODNIK. May 7, 1963 [Dec. 11,1962], No. 17962/63. Heading G2J. A microscope has disposed between the objective OB and the eyepiece OK a variable focal length system comprising a fixed positive member I, a movable negative member II and a movable positive member III. The distance between the plane A of the objective contact shoulder and the eyepiece object plane B is referred to as the reduced tube length t r and the focal lengths f<SP>1</SP> I , f<SP>1</SP> II , f<SP>1</SP> III of members I, II, III are such that Preferably each member is a cemented doublet with the cemented surface of II concave towards I and the radius of curvature of its first refracting surface r 4 lying between -0. 6 and -1. 2 times that of its rear surface r 6 . Member III has its cemented surface r 8 convex towards II and its radius of curvature smaller then that of the front surface r 7 of member III and its two component lenses have refractive indices differing by at least 0.18 with the rearward lens having the lower index. Optical data are given for one example.
