Abstract

994,893. Clip fastenings. F. C. BLACKWELL & CO. Ltd. Oct. 16, 1962 [Jan. 26, 1962], No. 3158/62. Heading E2B. A wall box connecting clip comprises an elongated face plate 11 having on each of its longer sides two lugs 13 extending at right angles to the face plate and adapted to engage one face of one of the wall box walls and a third lug 14 extending at right angles to the face plate and located between the two lugs 13 and adapted to engage the other face of the same wall to enable the box wall to be clipped between the lugs 13, 14 and to enable two wall boxes to be held by the clip in spaced relationship, the space between the boxes being closed at the front by the clip. The plate 11 has at each end a flange 12 extending at right angles thereto to close the said space from the ends. The distance between the outermost edges 22, 23 of the lugs 13 is approximately equal to the inner length of the wall box wall so that the edges will lie closely adjacent to the internal faces of the contiguous walls of the wall box to prevent longitudinal displacement of the clip. Each of the lugs 13 has a notch 26 or 27 so arranged that two clips can be used at right angles. In a modification the lugs 13 each have an arcuate notch to reduce the depth towards the mid length of the clip to avoid masking apertures which are sometimes found in wall box walls.
