Abstract

994,840. Stoppering. H. J. TAPHOM, [trading as FR. BRAMLAGE & CO.]. April 5, 1962, No. 13127/62. Heading B8T. Headed stoppers 6 are fed to a funnel 1 and pass to a vibratory sorting device 2 from which they are delivered in line to a rail 5, Fig. 7, which supplies them singly to a sealing head. Each stopper is gripped in the head by two spring-urged jaws 13, 14 behind which a fixed stop is located. Bottles are fed to a position below the head by a conveyer belt which delivers them to a rotary plate, whereupon a bottle is raised by a ram 16 to force the stopper into its mouth. A bottle centering ring 7 is secured to the sealing head.
