A dispensing carton with a reclosable pouring spout, made from a single paperboard blank A, is folded to tubular form and secured by a glue flap 54. To erect the carton, the shell is squared to a boxlike shape and the bottom end is sealed in the conventional manner. The top is closed by covering the outer faces of dust flaps 55 and 58 with adhesive and folding them inwardly about score lines 14, 25. An end closure flap 57 which is unfolded about score line 15 adheres to flaps 55, 58. Similarly adhesive is applied to an end closure flap 59 which is folded about score line 19 to adhere to flap 57. This sealing may be effected by putting the collapsed shell over a mandrel. Pressure causing a tear action along perforation lines 34, 36 and 38, 40 enables portions 51b, 53b, 57b, 58, 59b and 60a to be removed by detachment along perforation lines 33, 37, 41 and the contents may be dispensed. The carton is reclosed by forcing inwardly the spout panel 60 between panels 51, 53 so that portions 51c, 53c lie in contact with the panels. Downward pressure on portion 59a forcing it between panels 51 and 53 so that portions 51a and 53a overlie and are in contact with portions 51c and 53c completes the closure.
