Abstract
The invention comprises thionothiolphosphoric and thionothiolphosphonic acid esters of the general formula <FORM:0993813/C2/1> wherein R stands for a radical forming, with the rest of the nucleus a pyridyl, nitropyridyl, phthalazinyl, quinolyl, methyl - quinolyl, methyl - lower alkylmercaptopyrimidyl, methyldimethylaminopyrimidyl, methyl - chloropyrimidyl, methyl - lower alkyl - pyrimidyl, dichlorotriazinyl di - (lower alkoxy) - triazinyl, chloro - lower alkylmercaptotriazinyl or methyl-thiadiazolyl radical, R1 stands for a lower alkyl radical and R2 stands for an alkyl or alkoxy radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms. "Lower" denotes 1 to 4 carbon atoms. They are prepared according to the reaction scheme <FORM:0993813/C2/2> An alkali metal or ammonium salt of the ester may alternatively be used in the presence of a catalytic amount of mineral acid. The products are pesticides. 2,21 - (5,51 - Dinitropyridyl) disulphide, 2 - mercapto - 4 - methylquinoline, bis - [2 - methylmercapto - 4 - methylpyrimidyl - (6)] sulphide, 2, ethylmercapto - 4 - methyl - 6 - mercaptopyrimidine and 2 - isopropyl - 4 - methyl - 6 - mercaptopyrimidine are isolated as by-products in Examples 2, 4, 6, 8 and 18 respectively. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 713,278 and 926,234.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise thionothiolphosphoric and thionothiolphosphonic acid esters of the general formula <FORM:0993813/A5-A6/1> wherein R stands for a radical forming, with the rest of the nucleus a pyridyl, nitropyridyl, phthalazinyl, quinolyl, methyl - quinolyl, methyl-lower alkylmercaptopyrimidyl, methyl - dimethylaminopyrimidyl, methylchloropyrimidyl, methyl - lower alkyl - pyrimidyl, dichlorotriazinyl di - (lower alkoxy)-triazinyl, chloro - lower alkylmercaptotriazinyl or methyl-thiadiazolyl radical, R1 stands for a lower alkyl radical and R2 stands for an alkyl or alkoxy radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms. "Lower" denotes 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Solid or liquid carriers may be used. Other insecticides and/or fertilizers may be present. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 713,278 and 926,234.
