993,543. Sawtooth circuits. MULLARD Ltd. April 30, 1964 [May 9, 1963], No. 18386/63. Heading H3P. In a field time base circuit for television apparatus, the sawtooth oscillator is coupled via a direct current path to the grid of the output stage, a potentiometer R4 being provided so as to permit simultaneous variation of the sawtooth amplitude and D.C. bias on the output stage. The setting of R4 is increased as the valve V3 becomes aged so as to allow for reduction in slope of V3 and simultaneously prevent the valve being driven beyond its cut-off point. As described, the increase in setting of R4 also increases the amount of linearity correction feedback applied via R11. V1, V2 may be replaced by a PNPN device.
