Contra-rotating stirrers 3 for a multiple-axis culinary mixing machine 1 each comprise, extending from the shanks 2, a helically-twisted strip 4 whose free end is in the form of a hook 5. The shanks are provided with circular and square discs 6, 7 respectively, and similarlyshaped marks are provided on the housing 1 to ensure that the stirrers are correctly positioned with the direction of twist of each stirrer opposite to its direction of rotation.
