Abstract
A process for separating-chain hydrocarbons from petroleum fractions boiling above C10, e.g. C10-C20, and containing molecular sieve deactivating hydrocarbons, i.e. straight chain hydrocarbons of C18 and higher, comprises fractionating the feedstock to obtain a lower boiling fraction substantially free from deactivating hydrocarbons, and at least one higher boiling fraction containing deactivating hydrocarbons, and treating each fraction successively in ascending order of boiling range, with a 5 <\>rA molecular sieve to extract straight-chain hydrocarbons. A particularly suitable molecular sieve treating process is that described and claimed in Specification 944,441. Specification 988,542 also is referred to.ALSO:A process for separating straight chain hydrocarbons from petroleum fractions boiling above C10, e.g. C10-C20, and containing molecular sieve deactivating hydrocarbons, i.e. straight chain hydrocarbons of C18 and higher, comprises fractionating the feedstock to obtain a lower boiling fraction substantially free from deactivating hydrocarbons, and at least one higher boiling fraction containing deactivating hydrocarbons, and treating each fraction successively in ascending order of boiling range, with a 5 molecular sieve to extract straight chain hydrocarbons. A particularly suitable molecular sieve treating process is that described and claimed in Specification 944,441 Specification 988,542 also is referred to.
