A multi-purpose kitchen appliance comprises a first component 1 having a knife edge 7 overhanging a transverse slot 6 at one end for cheese &c. cutting and a second component 2 which may be hinged, as at 4, in releasable manner to the first component 1 whereby lemons may be squeezed between serrated surfaces 15, 18 provided respectively on the components 1, 2. The components 1, 2 may be used separately, provision being made to releasably fit a peeling knife 13 to the first component 1 and the second component 2 being provided with arcuate cutting means 20 for peeling oranges.
