Abstract

A method of curing a polyurethane comprises heating a polyester urethane which is the reaction product of 0.95 to 1.05 mols of an organic di-isocyanate with each mole of polyester and which contains one ethylenic double bond per 20 to 40 thousand molecular weight units, in the presence of 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of a ditertiary peroxide for each 100 parts by weight of the polyester urethane to effect a cure. Many polyester (including polyesteramide) forming materials, di-isocyanate and peroxides are specified. The vulcanizable compositions of polyester urethane and ditertiary peroxide may also contain an inert filler. Examples describe the preparation and curing of polyester urethanes.
