Abstract

984,970. Moulding processes. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. July 21, 1962, No. 28161/62. Heading B3F. [Also in Division B5] Destructable patterns, e.g. wax patterns, are removed from foundry shell moulds by immersing the mould and pattern assembly in a bath of molten material having substantially the same composition as the pattern material. The destructable pattern may be a plastic coated with wax, the wax being removed as above and the plastic being then removed as by burning.
