Abstract
983,371. Cleaning Venetian blinds. SCOTTISH ALUMINIUM WARE Ltd. May 20, 1963 [July 20, 1962], No. 27935/62. Heading A4F. [Also in Division B3] A Venetian blind 8 is cleaned by suspending it fully extended and with its slots closed, and applying thereto under pressure a polishing and detergent medium, as by a pump 17 and a flexible hose 19, and thereafter a rinsing medium, e.g. water by a flexible hose 9 and a pump 22. The polishing and detergent medium which may comprise ground limestone and an industrial detergent, is pumped from a tank 15, the used liquid being collected in a trough 9 and either returned to the tank 15 for recirculation or passed to a drain 14 according to the setting of a valve 11. To prevent spotting of the blind on drying a wetting medium, e.g. a detergent, may be applied thereto through a base 29 from a tank 25 by a pump 27.
