Abstract
983,048. Vehicle independent suspensions. F. A. E. PORSCHE. Nov. 19, 1963 [Dec. 15 1962], No. 45568/63. Heading B7D. The cranked end 11 of a transverse torsion bar stabilizer 9 extends between the arms 6, 7 of a forked wheel guide member and is pivoted at 12 to the junction 13 of the arms. In Fig. 1 a longitudinal torsion bar spring 3 is secured to tube 8 interconnecting the ends of the arms 6, 7 and the spherical end 14, Fig. 2, of stabilizer 9 is mounted in a resilient bushing 15 in pivot 12. In an alternative, Fig. 3, the generally longitudinal wheel guide member 18 supports the vehicle superstructure through a coil or pneumatic spring 19 and the outer end 26 of the stabilizer is bent parallel to the central portion 28 and may be connected to the part 30 of the guide member through a linkage.
