Abstract

In a process for removing dust from hot gases such as flue gases the hot gases are washed to cool and remove most of the dust therefrom and passed to a dry separator, a portion of the hot gases being passed through a by-pass to the washer and admixed with the washed gases to maintain the temperature of the gases entering the dry separator at a level which will prevent condensation in the dry separator. Cold air may be added to the hot gases before they enter the by-pass and the washer.
