Abstract

981,209. Filing papers. J. MULLER. Jan. 28, 1963 [Jan. 30, 1962], No. 3433/63. Heading B6E. Drawings &c. D are filed upright in a filing cabinet comprising a number of separate compartments 2 so that they extend above the top edge 3 of the cabinet, and each batch of drawings is confined at the top edges by a pair of plates or flaps 4 which are hinged at 5 to the edge 3 so that they can be swung away from each other to a limited extent to provide a flared inlet to each compartment and allow easy access to the drawings. As shown, the cabinet is housed in an outer casing having a hinged closable lid 12, a sloping front 13, and a reduced foot portion 14. Each plate 4 has a bent-over edge 6 to space it from the adjacent plate, and the extreme end plates rest on the inside of the casing to limit the pivoting movements of all the plates. Index members 7 or 8 can be arranged on each plate 4. Where the drawings &c. D are shorter in depth or width than the compartments 2, readily removable members to form false bottoms or sides may be placed in the compartments.
