[Also in Division G2] Organic photoconductors which may be admixed with the inorganic photoconductors of xerographic plates are oxadiazoles, triazoles, imidazoles, oxazoles, thiazoles, thiophenes, triazines, hydrazides, styryl compounds, aromethines, phenazines and polyvinylcarbazole. Organic photoconductors specified are 2,5-bis- [41 -diethyl - amino - phenyl] - 1,3,4 - oxadiazole, 2,5 - bis - [4<SP>1</SP> -(n - propylamino) - 21- chlorophenyl] - 1,3,4 - oxadiazole, 2,5 - bis- [41 - N - ethyl - N - n - propylaminophenyl]- 1,3,4 - oxadiazole, 1 - methyl - 2,5 - bis - [4<SP>1</SP>- diethylaminophenyl] - 1,3,4 - triazole, 2 - (4- dimethylaminophenyl) - 6 - methoxy - benzimidazole, 2 - (4 - chlorphenyl) - phenanthreno- (9<SP>1</SP>,10<SP>1</SP>4,5) - oxazole, 2 - (4 - diethylaminophenyl) - benzthiazole, 2,3,5 - triphenylthiophene, 3 - (4<SP>1</SP> -aminophenyl) - 5,6 - dipyridyl - (2<SP>1</SP>)-1,2,4 - triazines, 3 - (4<SP>1</SP> - dimethylaminophenyl) - 5,6 - di - (4 - phenoxyphenyl) - 1,2,4 - triazine, 4 - dimethylaminobenzylidene - isonicotinic acid hydrazide, 2 - (4 - dimethylaminostyryl) - 6 - methyl - 4- pyridone or -pyrone, 2-(4-dimethylaminostyryl)- 5 or -6-amino-benzimidazole, 4-dimethylaminobenzylidene - # - naphthylamine and 3 - dimethylamino - 1,2 - benzophenazine. As sensitizers for the plate triaryl methane, xanthene, thiazene, acridene. quinoline, quinone and cyanine dyes may be added. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 837,545.
