Abstract

979,082. Dry shavers. MORPHY RICHARDS Ltd. Sept. 2, 1963 [Sept. 1, 1962], No. 33640/62. Heading B4B. A dry shaver comprises a foil having a plurality of bands of perforations through which hairs can project into the path of a cutter located adjacent the inner surface of the foil, the plurality of bands comprising an inner band of relatively small perforations and two outer bands of relatively large perforations disposed on either side of the inner band, perforations of intermediate size being located between the inner and outer bands. As shown in Fig. 1, the rows in the centre region are perpendicular to the central line L (when the foil is flat) whereas the rows in the outer regions are inclined at an angle # to the rows in the centre region. Perforations A to E, Fig. 2, of five different shapes are provided in the foil, the perforations B being arranged to form the two outer bands on either side of an inner band of perforations A. The perforations C, D, E are provided at the transitions between the outer and inner bands.
